Teams Have Checked In On Randall Cobb, But Packers Aren’t Shopping Him

Update:

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that some NFL teams have checked in on Packers WR Randall Cobb, but Green Bay is not shopping him in offers and expects him to be on their team this season.

Mike Lombardi of the Ringer’s mentioned on the “GM Street” podcast Wednesday that he’s heard that the Packers have made WR Randall Cobb available for trade.

“If you offered Green Bay something for Randall Cobb — I don’t know what they would take for him, but I think he’s available,” Lombardi said. “I know his name is being shopped around.

Lombardi adds that there are a lot of teams around the NFL looking for receiver help right now, so it possible that a market could develop for Cobb in the coming weeks.

Green Bay used three draft picks on receivers this year and Jake Kumerow has stood out to the point where they could be forced to make some tough decisions as the position.

Cobb, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Packers back in 2011. He’ll be entering the four-year, $40 million contract that included $17 million guaranteed and set to make a base salary of $8.6 million for the 2018 season.

In 2017, Cobb has appeared in 14 games for the Packers and caught 62 passes for 608 yards receiving and three touchdowns.

We’ll have more regarding a potential Cobb trade as the news is available.
