According to Aaron Wilson, the Carolina Panthers are bringing in three players for visits this week including K Taylor Bertolet, LB Daniel Bituli, and QB Tommy Stevens.
Stevens is an interesting name to watch for Carolina, considering that reports from back in April mentioned that he was set to sign with the Panthers before the Saints traded back into round seven to draft him.
Stevens, 23, was selected in the seventh round by the Saints this past April out of Mississippi State. He signed a four-year, $3.37 million contract with New Orleans, but was waived coming out of the preseason.
The Saints re-signed Stevens to their practice squad soon after before releasing him a few days ago.
During his college career at Penn State and Miss. State, Stevens threw for 1,459 yards while completing 59.9 percent of his passes to go along with 15 touchdowns and six interceptions. He also rushed for 887 yards and 12 touchdowns over the course of four seasons and 29 games.
Bituli, 22, signed on with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee back in April. Los Angeles cut him loose coming out of training camp and he re-signed with the practice squad.
The Rams, unfortunately, released Bituli from the taxi squad last week.
During his college career, Bituli recorded 266 tackles, 14.5 tackles for a loss, four sacks, two forced fumbles, an interception and six passes defended over the course of four seasons and 44 games.
