Adam Schefter reports that the Patriots are placing OT Sebastian Vollmer on the reserve/physically unable to perform list.
- Schefter notes that the Patriots could bring Vollmer back at some point this season, but it is “more likely” that he will miss the 2016 season.
Vollmer has been on the teamโs active/PUP list, but it appears thatย the issue is serious enough for the team to consider putting him on the injured reserve.
Vollmer, 32, is in the final year of his four-year, $17 million contractย that includedย $8.25 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary ofย $2.25 million for the 2016 season.
In 2015,ย Vollmer appeared in 14 games for the Patriotsย and was rated byย Pro Football Focusย as the No. 42ย offensive tackleย out of 77 qualifying players.
