Patriots Place OT Sebastian Vollmer On Reserve/PUP List

Adam Schefter reports that the Patriots are placing OT Sebastian Vollmer on the reserve/physically unable to perform list.

  • Schefter notes that the Patriots could bring Vollmer back at some point this season, but it is “more likely” that he will miss the 2016 season.

Vollmer has been on the team’s active/PUP list, but it appears that the issue is serious enough for the team to consider putting him on the injured reserve.

Vollmer, 32, is in the final year of his four-year, $17 million contract that included $8.25 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $2.25 million for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Vollmer appeared in 14 games for the Patriots and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 42 offensive tackle out of 77 qualifying players.
