The Las Vegas Raiders announced Wednesday that they’ve designated QB Marcus Mariota to return from injured reserve.
The Raiders also signed De’Mornay Pierson-El to their practice squad and released QB DeShone Kizer from the unit.
This opens a three-week window of time for the Raiders to activate Mariota from injured reserve and add him to their 53-man roster.
Mariota, 26, is a former No. 2 overall pick of the Titans back in 2015. He signed a four-year, $24.214 million rookie contract thatโs fully guaranteed.
The Titans picked up Mariota’s fifth-year option back in April worth $20.922 million for the 2019 season. He ultimately agreed to a two-year contract with the Raiders this past March worth $17.6 million.
In 2019, Mariota appeared in seven games for the Titans and completed 59.4 percent of passes for 1,203 yards, seven touchdowns and two interceptions. He also rushed for 129 yards. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 27 quarterback out of 37 qualifying players.
