Finally the Albert Haynesworth saga in Washington has come to an end. ESPN’s Adam Schefter has reported that Haynesworth was traded to the New England Patriots in return for a fifth-round draft pick in 2013.
The Patriots and Bill Belichick are never ones to walk away from value and this deal is another example of the Patriots willingness to take on a reclamation project with the hopes that he can regain his previous form. I’m sure that Haynesworth will be much better than he was with the Redskins but what I find interesting is that he hates playing in the 3-4 defense and that just happens to be what the Patriots run. This will no doubt be a hot topic throughout the season.
