Adam Schefter mentioned during an interview with WEEI’s “Mut & Callahan” that the Cardinals have spoken with just two teams regarding Josh Rosen, but they don’t have a trade in place.
“They do not have a trade. They do not have anything close to a trade,” Schefter said, via NBC Boston. “The only two teams that they’ve spoken to over the last few weeks, the last month, have been the Miami Dolphins and the New York Giants.
“They have not talked to the Patriots.”
Meanwhile, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that the Cardinals have given Rosen no indication as to their plans, one way or the other.
Florio believes the Cardinals will have some work to do to mend fences with Rosen if they don’t select Kyler Murray at No. 1 overall.
Ian Rapoport reported a few days ago that the Cardinals still haven’t made any calls to teams in obvious need of a quarterback about a potential trade for Rosen. Rapoport mentions that he’s spoken with several GMs from other teams who have said they haven’t heard from the Cardinals.
The Cardinals opened veteran minicamp on Tuesday and Rosen was in attendance.
Rosen, 22, is a former first-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2018. He signed a four-year, $17,664,284 contract that includes an $10,926,792 signing bonus.
The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Cardinals to pick up in 2021.
In 2018, Rosen appeared in 14 games for the Cardinals and completed 55.2 percent of his passes for 2,278 yards, 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
We’ll have more regarding Rosen as the news is available.
