According to Aaron Wilson, the Steelers signed UDFA rookie CB Alex Myres to the practice squad following a tryout on Tuesday, releasing S Trevon Mathis in a corresponding move.

Mathis, 23, signed with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Toledo in 2018. The Vikings waived Mathis during final roster cuts at the end of the preseason, however.
During his four-year college career, Mathis recorded 119 total tackles, one forced fumble, one recovery, six interceptions and 23 pass defenses.
