The market for Burnett was pretty quiet overall. He was linked to the Bears and Browns early on in free agency, but it looks like the Steelers wound up being his best option in the end.
Burnett, 29, is a former third-round pick of the Packers back in 2010. He’s played all eight seasons for the Packers and was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his NFL career.
In 2017, Burnett appeared in 12 games for the Packers and recorded 68 tackles, no interceptions, a forced fumble and three pass defenses.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 47 safety out of 87 qualifying players.
We had him featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
