The Tennessee Titans announced Saturday that they’ve activated P Brett Kern from the COVID-19 list and promoted S Sam Sloman and OLB Brooks Reed to their active roster.
Kern, 34, originally signed on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent back in 2008. He lasted just over a year in Denver before being claimed off of waivers by the Titans.
Kern has gone on to play the past 12 seasons for the Titans. The Titans signed him to a four-year extension worth $12.55 million last year.
In 2020, Kern has appeared in 12 games for the Titans and totaled 1,649 yards on 36 attempts (45.8 YPA) to go along with 21 downed inside the 20-yard line.
Reed, 33, is a former second-round pick of the Texans back in 2011. He played out his rookie contract with Houston before agreeing to a five-year, $22.5 million contract that included $9 million guaranteed back in 2015 with the Falcons.
Reed was set to make a base salary of $4.5 million for the 2019 season when the Falcons released him and he quickly signed a contract with the Cardinals shortly after. The Titans added him to their practice squad last month following a workout and has bounced on and off their active roster.
