Tony Gonzalez joined Pro Football Talk Live on Friday and mentioned that he’s “100 percent” certain this will be his final season in the NFL.
Gonzalez maintained that he was “95 percent” certain that 2012 would be his last season in the league, but that proved to not be the case. Some have speculated that a lack of opportunity in television may have had an impact on his decision to return, but the Falcons made it clear that they wanted him back from the second their season ended.
Gonzalez added that heโs โa little temptedโ to attempt to surpass Jerry Rice as the league’s all-time leader in receptions, but with 307 still to go it seems doubtful that he’ll be able to make a serious run at it.
I’m sure there will be the same amount of buzz surrounding a possible return next season as there has been in recent years.
