Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com wrote Monday that he believes two teams – the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Detroit Lions – could be potential destinations for wide receiver/kick returner Josh Cribbs.
The Lions would make sense because they elected not to re-sign Stefan Logan, who filled a similar role with the Lions in previous years. The Buccaneers would also be a possibility, due to the interest the club showed in Leon Washington following his release from Seattle.
Previously, it was believed the Arizona Cardinals were going to make the move for Cribbs to fill the return role. However, the drafting of Tyrann Mathieu in this year’s NFL Draft would satisfy that need for the Cards.
Cribbs, 29, is recovering still from a bad knee that ended his 2012 season. His market has looked dull because of the injury.
We have Cribbsย listed as the No. 18 player in ourย Best Available Free Agentsย list.
