Veteran QB Josh McCown announced Monday in an article for the Players Tribune he’s retiring from the NFL after 17 seasons.

For his next step, McCown will be joining ESPN as an analyst, per Bill Hofheimer. He starts this coming Wednesday.
McCown, 39, is a former third-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2002. He played for several teams including the Lions, Raiders, Dolphins, Panthers, 49ers, Bears, Buccaneers and Browns before signing a one-year, $6 million contract with the Jets as an unrestricted free agent in 2017.
The Jets brought McCown back last March on a one-year contract worth $10 million.
During his career, McCown spent time with 10 different NFL teams. He finished with 17,703 yards passing, 98 touchdowns and 82 interceptions. He also ran for 1107 yards and 13 touchdowns in his career.
