Alabama QB A.J. McCarron A Fit For The Cardinals?

Daniel Jeremiah of the NFL Network mentioned Wednesday night that “a lot of personnel guys” believe Alabama QB A.J. McCarron makes sense for the Arizona Cardinals.

  • Jeremiah adds that McCarron is would likely be a second round target for the Cardinals.

Josh Norris of Rotoworld doesn’t see McCarron as being a great fit in Bruce Arians’ offensive system given that he has struggled to be an effective deep ball passer. Norris mentions that McCarron had the worst completion percentage on passes of 20 yards or more.

The Cardinals are expected to target a quarterback at some point during the draft, must likely in the middle rounds of the draft. LSU’s Zach Mettenberger has been tossed out as a speculative option in the past and ESPN’s Ron Jaworski has him rated as the No. 2 quarterback in the draft.
