Bills May Place WR Percy Harvin On Season-Ending I.R.

Bills GM Doug Whaley tells Vic Carucci of the Buffalo News that they may end up placing WR Percy Harvin on season-ending injured reserve with a knee injury.

Whaley added that Harvin’s knee “flared up” and he was going to discuss the receive’s status with trainers, but “could have something soon,” per Carucci.

  • Rand Getlin of NFL Media reported a few days ago that Harvin has met with the team and they are currently in the process of evaluating the extent of his hip injury.
  • According to Getlin, this is an injury issue only, and the Bills are taking things with Harvin one day at a time as they evaluate his situation.

Harvin has been away from the team with injury and personal issues, according to reports over the past few weeks. There has even been talk that Harvin could consider retiring from the NFL, due to the continued hip issues he’s dealt with during his career.

Harvin, 27, signed a one-year, $6 million contract with the Bills back in March after the Jets cut him loose.

This season, Harvin has appeared in five games and caught 19 passes for 218 yards receiving to go along with five carries and 31 yards rushing (6.2 YPC) and one total touchdown.

We’ll have more regarding Harvin and the Bills as the news is available.
