The Arizona Cardinals are releasing LB Scooby Wright as they trim their roster down to the 53-man limit, according to Ian Rapoport.
Wright, 23, was taken with the No. 250 overall pick by the Browns in the 2016 NFL Draft. He was entering the final year of a two-year, $990,000 contract and was set to make a base salary of $540,000 in 2017.
The Cardinals signed him off of the Browns’ practice squad in December of last year.
In 2016, Wright appeared in three games for Arizona and recorded two total tackles.
During his college career at Arizona, Wright recorded 270 tackles, 43.5 tackles for a loss, 17 sacks, an interception, five forced fumbles, a recovery and a pass defense.
