Earl Thomas To Cowboys HC Jason Garrett: “If Y’all Have The Chance, Come Get Me”

Seahawks veteran S Earl Thomas met up with Cowboys HC Jason Garrett and WR Dez Bryant in the Dallas’ locker room following Sunday’s game.

“If y’all have the chance, come get me,” Thomas told Garrett, via Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.

When asked about the comment he made to Garrett, Thomas explained that he’s always been a fan of the Cowboys and should something happen where he’s no longer with the Seahawks, he would like to play for Dallas.

“I went to the locker room to talk to Dez, and I saw coach Garrett,” Thomas said. “I’ve always been a Cowboys fan growing up. The biggest thing about when I said come get me is I don’t literally mean come get me now. I’m still in the prime of my career. I still want to be here. But when Seattle kicks me to the curb, please, the Cowboys, come get me. That’s the only other place I’d rather be If I was kicked to the curb. So that’s what I meant by it.

“People take life too serious. That’s just who I am.”

The Seahawks are drawing closer to the point where tough decisions are going to have to be made regarding some of their notable defensive players. However, it seems unlikely they would move on from Thomas any time soon, considering that he’s still an impact player and arguably the most valuable player on defense.

Thomas, 28, is a former first-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2010. He’s currently in the fourth year of his five-year, $44.725 million contract that includes $27.725 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $8 million and $8.5 million over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Thomas has appeared in 13 games and recorded 82 tackles, two interceptions with one being returned for a touchdown, a forced fumble and six pass defenses. ProFootballFocus rated him as the No. 15 overall safety out of 88 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Thomas and his future as the news is available.
