Free Agent CB Tracy Porter Arrested On Drug & Domestic Battery Charges

According to FOX 8 in New Orleans, free agent CB Tracy Porter was arrested in Baton Rouge Tuesday night for a domestic incident that occurred on October 5.

Porter allegedly got into an argument with a woman, who was trying to get her keys back. Porter allegedly grabbed her by the arm and then the throat, but he told investigators that he did grab the victim during the incident but in self-defense.

Police later arrested him on charges of possession of marijuana, distribution of schedule II drugs, and battery of dating partner.

Porter, 31, is a former second-round pick of the Saints back in 2008. He was in the second year of his three-year, $12 million contract that included $4.5 million guaranteed and set to make a base salary of $3.5 million for the 2017 season when the Bears cut him back in April.

In 2016, Porter appeared in all 16 games for the Bears and recorded 48 tackles, two interceptions, a forced fumble and nine pass defenses. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 107 cornerback out of 111 qualifying players.
