Michigan DT Maurice Hurst Medically Cleared To Resume Football Career

Adam Schefter reports that Michigan DT Maurice Hurst met with cardiologists at University of Michigan and Harvard and has been cleared him to resume playing football. According to Schefter, Hurst will do a full workout at Michigan’s pro day on Friday.

At the Combine last month, Hurst was diagnosed with a heart condition and did not participate in drills.

NFL players have been flagged for this condition in the past and have been able to resume their careers, so this great news for Hurst, who could be a potential first-round pick next month.

Hurst, 22, is among the top interior defensive line prospects in the 2018 draft class. He was a consensus All-America as a senior.

During his four-year college career, Hurst recorded 130 tackles, 32 tackles for a loss, 13.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and three pass defenses over the course of 41 games.

We’ll have more regarding Hurst as the news is available.
