Titans Go With Matt Hasselbeck Over Jake Locker For First Preseason Game

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak confirmed that Matt Hasselbeck will get the team’s first start of the preseason.

“If it means anything, it’s his hometown and where he’s played,” Munchak said, via Titansonline.com. “He was a starter last year, so I think he should be the first one out of the box with the ball in his hand. Like I said, they’re both going to play the same.”

Jake Locker will probably get a start of his own, considering that the quarterback competition has been pretty close throughout training camp. Still, it will be interesting to see how they play against the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday. Locker’s skill set definitely surpasses that of Hasselbeck’s, but the Titans appear to be going with the win-now approach.
