Tom Coughlin Expected To โ€œRide Off In The Sunset,โ€ Giants Like OC Ben McAdoo As Possible Replacement

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports (per Mike Garafolo) reports that appears as though Giants HC Tom Coughlin will โ€œride off in the sunsetโ€ after todayโ€™s game.

Glazer mentioned that the Giants donโ€™t plan to fire him, and adds that itโ€™s more likely to be a mutual parting of ways.

If the Giants do end up moving on, they reportedly like OC Ben McAdoo as a potential replacement.

A few days ago, Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports mentioned that Coughlin could resign on Monday.

โ€œThis is a different Tom Coughlin, and I think heโ€™s ready to move away,โ€ Garafolo said. โ€œA lot of people are talking as if itโ€™s an inevitability that on Monday he is going to resign. I am hearing that from a lot of people.โ€

Following the teamโ€™s loss to the Panthers, Coughlin was seen on the field playing with his grand kids. People seem to think this is a different Tom Coughlin, according to Garafolo.

The Giants head-coaching position could be a popular job if it were to end up being available. Saints HC Sean Payton could be a name to watch for the Giants as well.

Coughlin, 69, is in his 12th season as Giantsโ€™ head coach and has led them to a record of 102-89 (53.4 percent) to go along with five playoff appearances and two Super Bowl titles.

Weโ€™ll have more regarding Coughlinโ€™s future with the team as the news is available.
