AFC East Notes: Bills, Jets, Patriots

Bills

Jets

The Jets have been leaning on RB Le’Veon Bell while QB Sam Darnold is out of the lineup. However, Bell says he has no issues with the large workload.

โ€œNope,โ€ Bell said, via NorthJersey.com. โ€œNo, I play football. I just sat out a whole year. Itโ€™s like I kind of reset. All of the touches I didnโ€™t get last year, you can double it up this year. Itโ€™s fine.โ€

Bell is currently on pace for over 400 touches for the season.

  • Jets HC Adam Gase said that WR Demaryius Thomas (knee/hamstring) has looked good in practice this week: “It’s looking very positive for us…. makes me think when he was eight years younger. So it gives you hope.” (Manish Mehta)
  • The New York Jets officially ruled out QB Sam Darnold (illness) and LB Jordan Jenkins (calf) for Week 5 and list WR Josh Bellamy (shoulder), TE Daniel Brown (ankle), WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring), DT Quinnen Williams (ankle) as questionable.
  • The Jets also have LB C.J. Mosley (groin) and G Kelechi Osemele (shoulder, knee) as doubtful for Sunday’s game.
