AFC Notes: Browns, Jaguars, Ravens, Steelers

Nate Ulrich reports that the Browns tendered contracts to exclusive rights free agents FB Danny Vitale and C Austin Reiter.

Mike Kaye reports that the Jaguars “tried hard” to re-sign CB Aaron Colvin before he signed with the Texans.
According to Kaye, the Jaguars were among Colvin’s “final four” teams.

Jeff Zrebiec mentions that while no final decision has been made regarding Ravens OT Austin Howard, it’s unlikely he’ll be back on his current deal after Baltimore re-signed OL James Hurst.
Zrebiec adds that the Ravens could either release Howard or restructure his contract.

Tom Pelisssero reports that Steelers HC Mike Tomlin and GM Kevin Colbert spoke today with veteran S Mike Mitchell and told him that they’re still interested in bringing him back.
According to Pelissero, Mitchell will test the free agent market once his release is official on Wednesday, but the door remains open for him.
According to Jeremy Fowler, the Steelers have gauged market of several inside linebackers but typically stand pat for the initial wave of free agency.
