Dolphins
The Dolphins signed LBs Joshua Uche and David Ojabo as free agents this offseason. Miami GM Jon-Eric Sullivan said Uche will spend a lot of time at the SAM linebacker position, while Ojabo is someone who brings length and physicality.
“[Uche] will play a lot of SAM [linebacker] for us at times… You can let him go rush. He’s wired right. Tough, physical. [David] Ojabo is excited. He’s a bigger body. He’s got length, got a physical presence. He’s a little bit of a different body type than we have, which I think we need. We will keep adding to the room, throw them all in the mix and see what comes out,” Sullivan said, via Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.
As for OLB Chop Robinson, Sullivan is confident new HC Jeff Hafley will get the most out of the third-year edge rusher.
“He has a responsibility, has to be intentional about his business… I have a lot of confidence in [coach Jeff Hafley] his staff and their ability to teach and develop young players. Chop has a lot of natural talent. We have a lot of really good coaches in the building. I think it will be a good marriage. We will get the most out of Chop.”
Patriots
Patriots QB Drake Maye said that his shoulder is feeling good and he will be ready for the season.
“Shoulder is feeling good. Feeling great. You know, I think just having some time off and being able to get back into throwing and lifting,” Maye said, via PFT.
Patriots
Patriots HC Mike Vrabel didn’t rule out the possibility of trading for Eagles WR A.J. Brown and said that the team is going to continue to upgrade their roster throughout the rest of the off-season.
“We’ve talked about this since last January. We’re going to try to do everything we can to strengthen our roster through the draft, through free agency, multiple ways of player acquisition,” Vrabel said, via ESPN. “So anything that we can continue to do to strengthen the roster, we’re going to try to do.”
The Patriots cut WR Stefon Diggs this offseason, leaving a lot of production that needs to be replaced.
“It’s literally about targets, the efficiency,” he said. “We all appreciate what Stef did and I really loved being able to coach him — the efficiency in which he was able to catch the ball was impressive. So whether that’s Drake’s accuracy, ball location or Stef’s ability to catch it, that’s something that we’ll have to recreate. I’m not worried about the catches and the overall production. I think we can recreate that. We just have to be very mindful that the efficiency in which we throw and catch it is important.“
