Adam Jahns, citing league sources, reports that Bears WRÂ Markus Wheaton could end missing 4-6 weeks with a groin tear.
Wheaton, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Steelers back in 2013. He played out the final year of his rookie contract with the Steelers when he signed a two-year, $11 million deal that included $6 million guaranteed with the Bears this offseason.
Wheaton stands to make base salaries of $3 million and $5 million over the next two years of the agreement.
In 2017, Wheaton has appeared in three games for the Bears but caught just a single pass for nine yards receiving and no touchdowns.
We’ll have more regarding Wheaton as the news is available.
