ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Bengals are hosting free agent LBย Karlos Dansby for a visit on Thursday.
This is the first reported interest in Dansby since he was released close to a week ago.
The Bengals Cardinals, Seahawks, Packers and Colts have all been mentioned as potential landing spots for Dansby after he mentioned that he wants an opportunity to compete for a Super Bowl title.
Dansby previously indicatedย that the Bengals could have interest.
“Yeah, I think the Bengals are licking their chops right now,’‘ Dansby said, via Mary Kay Cabot. “I hope they are. We’ll see what it is.”
It’s worth mentioning that signing Dansby to a contract wouldn’t factor into a team’s 2017 compensatory picks.
Dansby, 34, was in the third year of his four-year, $24 million contractย that includedย $12 million guaranteedย when he was released in a move that freedย up $3.5 million in available cap spaceย for the Cardinals.
In 2015, Dansby appeared in all 16 games for the Browns and recorded 109 tackles, three interceptions with two being returned for touchdowns, three forced fumbles and six pass defenses.
We haveย him featuredย in ourย Best Available Free Agents list.
