According to Mike Garafolo, the Bills and CB Josh Norman have agreed to a one-year deal with a base value of $6 million for the 2020 season.
Norman can make as much as $8 million in incentives. The deal reunites him with his former defensive coordinator, Bills HC Sean McDermott, after a visit a couple weeks ago following his release from the Redskins.
It’s worth mentioning that signing Norman to a contract will not factor into a team’s 2021 compensatory picks, given that he was released.
Norman, 32, is a former fifth-round pick of the Panthers back in 2012. He spent four years in Carolina and actually received the Panthers’ franchise tag following the 2015 season
However, Carolina surprisingly pulled the tender and he eventually signed a five-year, $75 million contract that includes $36.5 million fully guaranteed with the Redskins.
Norman was set to make a base salary of $12 million for the 2020 season when the Bills released him a few weeks ago.
In 2019, Norman appeared in 12 games for the Redskins and recorded 40 tackles, one sack, an interception, a forced fumble and six passes defended.
We have him included in our Top 100 – 2020 Free Agents list.
