According to Adam Schefter, the Rams and CB Jalen Ramsey have agreed on a five-year, $105 million extension.
At $21 million per year, it’s the largest contract ever signed by a cornerback and dramatically pushes forward the market at the position. Ian Rapoport writes $71.2 million of the total figure is guaranteed.
The Rams also confirmed the two sides have reached a deal.

The two sides have been working on a deal ever since the Rams traded a massive haul including two first-round picks last fall to acquire Ramsey from the Jaguars.
Back in October of last year, Ramsey reportedly promised Los Angeles that he would not hold out in 2020 even if the two sides couldn’t reach an agreement. And now that becomes moot, as the two sides reach an agreement on a deal that should keep Ramsey happily in Los Angeles for years to come.
Ramsey, 25, is a former first-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2016. He signed a four-year, $23.35 million contract and is set to make a base salary of $3.63 million in 2019.
The Jaguars picked up Ramsey’s fifth-year option that will cost them around $13 million for the 2020 season before trading him to the Rams last year for two first-round picks and a fourth-round selection.
In 2019, Ramsey appeared in 12 games for the Jaguars and Rams and recorded 50 tackles, one interception, two forced fumbles and five passes defended.
We had him included in our Top 50 – 2021 Free Agents list.

That’s wonderful, it’s probably too much to keep some of the other players the Rams need, but it will be exciting for fans to watch him play.
Expensive players, make it so difficult for their teams to ever reach the Big Superbowl but they will hopefully get some use out of him, before his time to play is over. Sad when they take so much money, that the teams can’t keep other players that are needed to get to that big game.
