Nicki Jhabvala reports that Broncos ILB Corey Nelson tore his bicep this past Sunday and is out for the season.
You can expect the Broncos to place him on injured reserve in the coming days and add someone to their roster.
Nelson, 27, is a former seventh-round pick of the Broncos back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2,268,600 contract and made a base salary of $690,000 for the 2017 season before signing one-year, $1.6 million contract with the Eagles last year.
Unfortunately, the Eagles elected to release Nelson in a move that cleared $1 million of available cap space. After a brief stint with the Falcons, Nelson signed a futures contract with the Buccaneers but was among their roster cuts.
Nelson returned to the Broncos at the start of the regular season.
In 2019, Nelson appeared in seven games for the Broncos and recorded 10 tackles and no sacks.
