Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports that the Buccaneers are signing WR/KR Trindon Holliday to a contract.
- Stroud adds that the move is expected to be announced on Tuesday and this doesn’t appear to be a good sign forย rookie Solomon Patton.
Holliday worked out for theย Coltsย last Monday, but was never offered a contract. Before that, heย visited with the Bears, so there has been some interest in him since theย Giants released from the injured reserve list.
Holliday, 28, originally signed a one-year deal worth $700,000 with the Giants back in March, but he was placed onย injured reserve over a month ago.
Holliday wasย an extremely productive kick returner since he signed with the Broncos two years ago. During this time, he’s totaledย 1,327 kick return yards,ย 752 punt return yards and four touchdowns.
However, he’s had three fumbles and hasn’t been much of aย contributor on offense outside of two receptions for 17 yards receiving.ย Pro Football Focusย had him rated as the No. 12 kick returner in the league last year.
