According to Ian Rapoport, the Chargers and WR Travis Benjamin are mutually parting ways following a meeting with Benjamin’s agent at the Combine.
Benjamin will now enter the free-agent market in the coming weeks. The veteran speedster signed with Los Angeles in 2016 as a free agent.
Benjamin, 30, was taken in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL draft by the Browns. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2.577 million rookie contract and signed on with the Chargers in 2016.
Last offseason, Benjamin signed a one-year extension through the 2020 season that included a $3 million signing bonus and reduced his 2019 base salary to $1 million.
In 2019, Benjamin appeared in five games for the Chargers and caught six passes for 30 yards before landing on injured reserve.
