Colts Brought In Eight Free Agents Including WR Brice Butler

According to Howard Balzer, the Indianapolis Colts brought in eight free agents for tryouts/visits on Monday including WR Brice Butler.

  1. WR Aaron Burbridge
  2. WR Brice Butler
  3. LB Cayson Collins
  4. LB Brady Sheldon
  5. LB Azeem Victor
  6. OT Andrew Nelson
  7. RB Ralph Webb
  8. WR Bruce Ellington (Visit)

Butler, 28, is a former seventh-round pick of the Raiders back in 2013. He spent two years in Oakland before he was traded to the Cowboys for the 2015 season.

The Cowboys re-signed Butler to a one-year contract last year and he finished out the season in Dallas. Butler joined the Cardinals back in April on a two-year contract, but was cut loose coming out of the preseason.

Butler returned to the Cowboys for a brief stint earlier this season.

In 2017, Butler appeared in 13 games for the Cowboys and caught 15 passes for 317 yards receiving and three touchdowns.

Ellington, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the 49ers back in 2014. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2.694 million rookie contract when he was waived by San Francisco and claimed by the Jets.

Unfortunately, Ellington missed the entire 2016 season after he suffered a torn hamstring during the preseason and was later placed on injured reserve.

The Texans signed Ellington back in August of last year and placed him on injured reserve in December with another hamstring injury. Ellington did, however, return to Houston on another one-year contract this past March, only to be released from injured reserve with a settlement a few weeks ago.

In 2018, Ellington appeared in three games and recorded eight receptions for 92 receiving yards and a touchdown.
