Colts QB Andrew Luck May Miss Week 1?

Colts QB Andrew Luck (shoulder) was noncommittal about the possibility of playing in Week 1 of the regular season.

It’s hard for me to look beyond, really, today’s rehab session,” Luck said, via Dakota Crawford of the Indianapolis Star. “That’s the approach I have to take … if you want to get truly healthy. If you want to get better than you were before the injury.

Luck added that there is no reason to panic, but he is unsure about what his timetable of recovery is.

There’s no reason to freak out,” Luck said. “I don’t know what day it’s going to be, I don’t know what week, I don’t know when, but I definitely will be (better).”

The Colts placed Luck on their physically unable to perform list to start training camp since he is still recovering from shoulder surgery.

Colts GMย  Chris Ballard told reporters after placing Luck on the PUP list that the quarterback is “exactly where I thought we’d be at this time,” so it does not sound like there is cause for alarm within Indianapolis.

Luck, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Colts back in 2012. He’s currently in the first year of his six-year, $139.125 million contract that includes $87 million guaranteed and is set to make a base salary of $12 million for the 2016 season.

In 2016, Luck has appeared in 15 games and thrown for 4,240 yards while completing 63.5 percent of his passes for 31 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 4 quarterback out of 36 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Luck’s status as the news is available.
