Colts & Raiders Expected To Be In “Strong Pursuit” Of Chargers WR Tyrell Williams

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports expects the Colts and Raiders to be in “strong pursuit” of Chargers WR Tyrell Williams this offseason.

Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal previously mentioned that the Raiders are considered likely to make a “serious run” at signing Williams in free agency, so this isn’t a big surprise.

The Colts have the money to be in on any free agency they like and Williams would give them some size opposite of T.Y. Hilton.

La Canfora has said that he expects Williams to get a “massive payday” at around $12 million per year.

Williams, 27, wound up signing on with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Western Oregon back in 2015. He managed to make the Chargers’ 53-man roster the past two years and returned to Los Angeles on a one-year restricted tender worth $2.914 million for the 2018 season.

In 2018, Williams appeared in all 16 games for the Chargers and caught 41 passes for 653 yards receiving and five touchdowns. He also rushed for 15 yards on two carries. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 66 receiver out of 117 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2019 NFL Free Agents list.
