The Indianapolis Colts announced Sunday that they’ve signed nine players to futures contracts for the 2019 season including CBย Jalen Collins.
The full list of futures signings includes:
- WR Krishawn Hogan
- OT Tony Garcia
- WR Steve Ishmael
- OT De’Ondre Wesley
- TE Billy Brown
- DT DeShawnย Williams
- CB Jalen Collins
- QB Phillip Walker
- LB Anthony Winbush
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Collins, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Falcons back in 2015. He was in the third year of his four-year, $5.428 million contract when the Falcons elected to cut him loose last season.
Collins signed on with the Colts’ practice squad after officially being reinstated by the NFL. Indianapolis later promoted him to their active roster before re-signing him to their taxi squad.
In 2016, Collins appeared in eight games and recorded 31 tackles, two interceptions and 10 pass defenses for the Falcons.
