Colts Sign Nine Players To Futures Deals Including CB Jalen Collins

The Indianapolis Colts announced Sunday that they’ve signed nine players to futures contracts for the 2019 season including CB Jalen Collins.

The full list of futures signings includes:

  1. WR Krishawn Hogan
  2. OT Tony Garcia
  3. WR Steve Ishmael
  4. OT De’Ondre Wesley
  5. TE Billy Brown
  6. DT DeShawn Williams
  7. CB Jalen Collins
  8. QB Phillip Walker
  9. LB Anthony Winbush

Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.

Collins, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Falcons back in 2015. He was in the third year of his four-year, $5.428 million contract when the Falcons elected to cut him loose last season.

Collins signed on with the Colts’ practice squad after officially being reinstated by the NFL. Indianapolis later promoted him to their active roster before re-signing him to their taxi squad.

In 2016, Collins appeared in eight games and recorded 31 tackles, two interceptions and 10 pass defenses for the Falcons.

Walker, 23, wound up signing on with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Temple back in May of last year. He was waived coming out of the preseason but later added to the team’s practice squad.
Indianapolis brought Walker back on a futures contract this past January, but once again released him at the start of the regular season. He was on and off of their practice squad this year.
During his college career at Temple, Walker threw for 10,668 yards while completing 56.9 percent of his passes to go along with 74 touchdowns and 44 interceptions over the course of four seasons and 49 games. He also rushed for 771 yards and nine touchdowns.
