Colts Waive CB Tevin Mitchel & LB Ron Thompson From I.R. With Injury Settlement

The Indianapolis Colts officially waived CB Tevin Mitchel and LB Ron Thompson from injured reserve with injury settlements on Friday.

Mitchel, 24, was taken in the sixth round of this year’s draft by Washington but lasted just a few months with the team after they elected to waive him in early August.

It appeared as though the Redskins were hoping Mitchel would clear waivers and revert to injured reserve, but the Colts later claimed him off of waivers.

Indianapolis placed Mitchel on injured reserve this past weekend.

During his college career, Mitchel appeared in 42 games (29 starts) at Arkansas and finished with 157 tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss, 18 pass defenses, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and four interceptions (one returned for a touchdown).
