The Colts worked out DT Datone Jones on Wednesday according to the official NFL transaction report.
The former first-round pick was with the Jaguars during training camp this year, but was cut coming out of the preseason.
Jones, 28, was taken with the No. 26 overall pick back in 2013. He played out the final year of his four-year, $7.71 million rookie contract but the Packers declined to pick up Jones’ fifth-year option for the 2017 season.
Minnesota signed him to a one-year, $3.75 million deal in 2017 but he was, unfortunately, placed on injured reserve and later released with a settlement. After brief stints with the Lions and 49ers, Jones signed on with the Cowboys and finished out the year in Dallas.
Jones signed a one-year deal with the Jaguars in June.
Jones was limited to only one game in 2018 with the Cowboys because of a hamstring injury. He did not record a stat.
