Todd Archer of ESPN reports that the Cowboys brought in four free agents for workouts on Wednesday including TE Jake Fisher, TE Jerome Washington, LB Justin Phillips and LB Emmanuel Beal.
Of this group, the Cowboys signed Phillips to a contract.
Archer notes that Cowboys TE Rico Gathers has an ankle injury and linebacker Andrew Dowell has been slowed by a hamstring injury, which has the Cowboys looking for depth help.
Fisher, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Bengals back in 2015. He played out the final year of his four-year, $4.259 million contract that included $1.986 million guaranteed and made a base salary of $705,000 for the 2018 season.
Fisher made the decision to convert from offensive tackle to tight end and eventually signed on with the Bills during the offseason. However, Buffalo cut him loose a few weeks after the draft.
In 2018, Fisher appeared in 11 games for the Bengals before being placed on injured reserve.
