According to Field Yates, the Dolphins have worked out free-agent RB Alex Collins.
Collins was the Ravens’ leading rusher in 2017, but broke his leg in 2018 and was released following a suspension.
Yates adds the Dolphins also worked out CFL QB Chris Streveler, who led the Winnipeg Blue Bombers to a Grey Cup this year, as a potential developmental arm.
Collins, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2016. He was entering the second year of his four-year, $2.566 million contract that included a $184,384 signing bonus when he was cut loose by the Seahawks at the start of the 2017 season.
Collins signed on to the Ravens’ practice squad a few days later and was eventually promoted to their active roster. The Ravens brought him back on an exclusive rights contract in 2018 but he was released last March following an arrest and a three-game suspension by the NFL.
In 2018, Collins appeared in 10 games and rushed for 411 yards on 114 carries (3.6 YPC) to go along with 15 receptions for 105 yards receiving and eight total touchdowns.
