Howard Eskinย reports that Eaglesย C Jason Kelceย will requireย surgery to repair a hernia and could miss up to two months.
- According to Eskin, Philadelphia is already in the process of looking for replacement.
- Jeff McLane confirms that Kelce is likely undergo surgery in the coming days and adds that he could be out 6-8 weeks and possibly more.
The Eagles offensive line is already without Allen Barbre, G Evan Mathis and 2013 first-round pick Lane Johnson, who is serving a suspension, so this is horrible news for them.
Kelce, 26, signed a six-year contract extension that brings his deal to $40.11 million in total and includesย $13 million guaranteed. Philadelphia paid himย a $6 million signing bonus, which leaves him with a reasonable base salary of $1.398 million for the 2014 season.
Pro Football Focusย has him rated as the No. 1 center in league this season and was especially good at run-blocking.
