According to Adam Schefter, Eagles S Malcolm Jenkins has reported for the team’s mandatory minicamp that begins Tuesday.
It was thought that Jenkins could consider holding out, as the veteran safety reportedly would like a new contract. Jenkins did not attend any of the Eagles’ voluntary OTA’s this spring.
Jenkins, 31, is a former first-round pick of the Saints back in 2009. He spent five years in New Orleans before signing on with the Eagles in 2014.
Jenkins is entering the fourth year of his five-year, $40.5 million contract that included $21 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $8.25 million (2019), and $7.75 million (2020) over the remainder of the agreement.
In 2018, Jenkins appeared in all 16 games for the Eagles and recorded 96 tackles, one sack, one interception, three forced fumbles, a recovery and eight pass defenses.
