ESPN’s Adam Caplan reports that the Eagles brought in three tight ends for workouts over the weekend including:ย Brian Leonhardt, Jacob Maxwell, and Connor Hamlett.
Neither of them have been signed to a contract, but it appears as though they could be on the team’s call list in the event the Eagles sustain an injury at the position.
Leonhardt, 25, wound up signing on with the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Bemidji State back in 2013. He was unable to make the team’s 53-man roster coming out of the preseason that year, but later signed on to the team’s practice squad.
The Raiders elected to sign him to a one-year exclusive rights contract this past April, but Leonhardt was once again among their final roster cuts a few weeks ago.
Leonhardt has yet to appear in an NFL game.
Maxwell, 24, also went undrated out of Louisiana-Lafayette following the 2014 NFL draft, but was signed to a contract by the Lions. Since then, Maxwell has had brieft stints with the Dolphins and Bears before returing to the Lions in August of this year.
Unfortunately for Maxwell, he was among Detroit’s earlyย roster cuts a few weeks ago.
