Free agent DT Mike Daniels said in an interview with Sirius XM NFL Radio that teams have shown “soft interest” in him, due in part to the fact that they can’t bring him in for a medical evaluation.
โThereโs been a decent amount of interest,โ Daniels said. โThereโs been soft interest. As in, teams like you but they canโt bring you in and let their doctors check you out.โ
Daniels did say he would “love” to re-sign with the Packers if that were a possibility.
“I’d definitely love to go back to Green Bay,” Daniels said.
There hasn’t been a lot of reported interest in Daniels up to this point. The Ravens were mentioned as a possible a few months ago, but that was before they opted to sign Derek Wolfe.
Daniels, 31, is a former fourth-round pick of the Packers back in 2012. He was entering the final year of his five-year, $41.66 million contract and set to make a base salary of $7.6 million for the 2019 season when the Packers released him.
Daniels signed a one-year, $9.1 million deal with the Lions for the 2019 season. He’s been testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent since March.
In 2019, Daniels appeared in nine games for the Lions and recorded 10 tackles and one sack.
