Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports that the Giants have re-signed WR Ramses Barden.
Barden, 27, did not play for much of the season behind WR Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz and Rueben Randle, but in limited time he played due to a Nicks injury in game four Barden recorded nine catches for 138 yards, so he can be effective when needed. The signing is likely for depth and insurance should any of the other receiver be injured.
Barden has obviously had issues finding interest in the free agent market, so the fact that the Giants re-signed him is a little surprising at this time.
