According to Mike Garafolo, the Giants will work out RB Akeem Hunt on Friday.
New York is looking for help at running back after injuries have the Giants down to their third-string at the position.
Hunt, 26, originally signed on with the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Purdue back in 2015. He lasted just a few months in New York before he was waived at the start of the 2015 season.
Hunt had brief stints with the Ravens and Texans before the Chiefs signed him to a contract in 2017. Kansas City elected to cut him loose last year.
Hunt caught on briefly with the Titans earlier this summer before being waived coming out of the preseason.
For his career, Hunt has appeared in 30 games for the Texans and Chiefs and rushed for 228 yards on 45 carrie (5.1 YPC) to go along with 13 receptions for 99 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
