Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Giants worked out veteran DT Barry Cofield in recent days.
- Adam Schefter reports that the Giants also worked out English rugby star Tom Burgess as a tight end.
The Colts brought Cofield in for a workout a few weeks ago, but elected to not sign him to a contract, so it appears as though interest in him is beginning to pick up.
Cofield admitted a few months back that he unfortunately had a setback in recovery earlier in the year, which forced him to undergo a second procedure.
Cofield, 31, had another two years remaining on his six-year, $36 million contract when the Redskins cut him loose in a move that created $4,122,500 in available cap space.
In 2014, Cofield recorded seven tackles and a sack over the course of eight games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 68 defensive tackle in the league out of 81 qualifying players.
