Giants WR Mario Manningham Losing Playing Time?

The New York Daily News reports that Giants WR Mario Manningham was demoted from the teams two-wide sets during Sunday’s win over Arizona.

Manningham returned to the team after missing the previous week but managed to make a few critical mistakes which led the Giants to replace him with Victor Cruz.

“That’s how it is,” he said. “There’s plays where he comes in, there’s plays where I come in.”

Cruz stepped up big last week and was the subject of a controversial play in Sunday’s game but overall he’s managed to make the most of his opportunities which should increase his playing time moving forward. It’s hard to imagine that the Giants would significantly cut Manningham’s playing time but this should be indicator that he’s going to have to make a better effort in the coming weeks.
