According to Mike Klis of 9 News, the Broncos are not actively shopping WR Demaryius Thomas around the league.
Klis says that the Broncos are willing to listen to offers from interested teams, but it’s a “good bet” he’ll remain in Denver for the remainder of the 2018 season.
League sources have toldย Adam Schefterย last weekend that the Broncos have been listening to offers for Thomas and a handful of teams have reached out to them to see if he’s available. However, Schefter says that Denver so far has not rebuffed those advances.
According to Schefter, there’s no guarantee the Broncos trade Thomas, but he is 30 years old and they have a young receiver in Courtland Sutton who is ready for an expanded role.
Rumors first surfaced about Thomas’ availability back in August, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise.
Thomas, 30, is a former first-round pick of the Broncos back in 2010. Hein in the fourth year of his five-year, $70 million contract that included $43.5 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $8.5 million and $14 million over the final two years of the agreement.
The Broncos picked up Thomas’ $4 million option this past March.
In 2018, Thomas has appeared in seven games for the Broncos and caught 33 passes for 372 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
