Tom Silverstein is reporting on Twitter that the Green Bay Packers have informed safety Nick Collins that he will be released.
The Packers allegedly aren’t comfortable with Collins risking his health going forward. Collins sustained a neck injury against the Carolina Panthers in Week 2 in 2011, and missed the rest of the season. He is yet to decide on his 2012 status.
Green Bay also released veteran offensive lineman Chad Clifton this week.
